HP Spectre x360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi fellow HP users and forum moderators,

I am using a Spectre X360 purchased in Australia and currently using it in Australia.

My problem is that the laptop sometimes does not wake up from sleep/hibernate. The screen is pitch black and keyboard lighting button is functional but I tried every single button on the keybpard and pressed the trackpad. Nothing happens or responds to this.

Is this a software issue? HP software or Windows 10 64bit issue?

Maybe a hardware like SSD playing up? My SSD is a Samsung 256GB one.

The only way to make my laptop work again is to press the on/off/sleep button for 5 seconds then it would force to shutdown then I press again to boot it up.

This is getting annoying. I am writing a report for university and suddenly after having a short break or so and opening my laptop the screen is black does not want to wake up.

Any solution(s) to this?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately the solution you have given me does not fix my issue.

I hope now you have got it fixed

I'm having the same issue with my new laptop Spectre 15 which i got from HP.com USA.

If there is a name for this problem so i can do more search to fix this annoying thing, other than that, I loved HP after this new laptop.

I have the same problem.   When the screen turns off, no key will turn it on (except for the power button on the side.)  The computer is running and the led under the F5 key is lit, but a black screen.   I updated the BIOS and every driver (SSD, video, audio, wifi, etc.)  No luck.     FYI.... Spectre x360, 8GB, 500GB SSD, i7 processor.
