Op System is Windows 8.1 64 bit

Problem:  Everytime I touch a text portion of a display, the touch screen keyboard shows.  I use the regular keyboard for my edits and the Touch Screen Keyboard covers up the display.

How do I eliminate the Touch Screen Keyboard automatically displaying?

Hey there! @leaf51, Welcome to HP forums.

I understand everytime you touch the text portion of a display the on-screen keyboard pops up.

Don't worry I'll try to help you out.

Did you make any software or hardware changes to your PC?

Please try the steps recommended below.

From the Desktop, hold down the Windows key and press R.  Into the Run window, type services.msc and hit enter.  Browse down to the Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel service, right-click it and select Properties.

In the drop-down box next to 'Startup type' select Disabled and click Apply to save the change.

Click the 'Stop' button to end the service.

If you do ever want to use the on-screen keyboard, this service will need to be re-enabled and started first.

Let me know if this works!

Have a beautiful day ahead! 🙂
