Apparently, I am not able to play music or videos on whatever platform whether be with the music or video player, spotify, youtube, etc. Why is this happening and how I fix this situation?

Hello @UsmanAbubakar – Hope you are well 🙂

Thanks for reaching out on HP Support Forums. I’d be glad to help 🙂

Going through your post, I understand you are having issues while playing audio & video from both online and from the saved media. Let’s try to address the issue one by one. Follow the steps below:

To resolve the audio issue:

Run Audio Troubleshooter:

  • Launch Troubleshooting by typing and clicking “Troubleshooting” in Windows search.
  • Click on "Playing Audio".
  • Follow the on-screen instructions.

Reinstall the drivers from Device manager:

  • Press the Windows logo key + R to get the Run window.
  • Type “devmgmt.msc” and press ok to get the device manager.
  • Expand “Sound, video, and game controllers” and right-click and choose uninstall from the list.
  • Check the box which says “Delete the driver software” and confirm the uninstall.
  • Restart the computer and check the audio.

To resolve the video issue:

Update the graphic drivers:

  • Go to Device manager.
  • In the list of devices, expand Display adapters.
  • Right-click the driver and select Update Driver Software.
  • Click Search automatically for updated driver software.
  • Follow the onscreen instructions to install the updated driver.
  • After updating the graphics driver and BIOS, restart the notebook to complete the installation of updates.

If the issue persists, please make sure you follow the steps mentioned here: http://hp.care/2hjeXx8

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance.

Good luck & Merry Xmas 🙂
