Probook 450 G4
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello,

on our network we use windows 7 and we just got some HP probooks 450 g4's and noticed the website does not have the VGA driver for them for windows 7.

I was wondering if some helpful person out their could tell me if their is a VGA driver for windows 7 for a probook 450 G4.

thanks in advance 🙂

Hi;

Unfortunately, there isn't.

No PC from any manufacturer is being supported for any other OS but W10, that has an Intel 7th gen core processor.

Intel and Microsoft are not developing graphics drivers for that platform, or the newest AMD chipsets as well.

This was mentioned in many tech articles on the net, but also in the documentation for the 450 G4 as well...see the bottom of page 10.

If you use the Windows 10 driver from here:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp78501-79000/sp78781.exe

- during install it will ask if you want to upack the files to a folder (the second option), do this and then  it will say that "your system does not meet the minimum requirements" - click ok

Browse to the C:\swsetup\sp78781\Graphics folder and open the igdlh64.inf file with notepad and edit the below section:

[Manufacturer]

%Intel% = IntelGfx, NTamd64.6.1, NTamd64.6.2, NTamd64.6.3, NTamd64.10.0, NTamd64.10.0...14310

;=====================================================================
; Windows 7 Install - DT Only
;=====================================================================
[IntelGfx.NTamd64.6.1]
;SKL HW
%iSKLULTGT2% = iSKLD_w7, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_5916&SUBSYS_8231103C
%iSKLULTGT2% = iSKLD_w7, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_5916&SUBSYS_8231103C
%iSKLULTGT2% = iSKLD_w7, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_5916&SUBSYS_8231103C
%iSKLULTGT2% = iSKLD_w7, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_5916&SUBSYS_8231103C

Get the hardware IDs from device manager if yours dont match above and change everything after the _w7,  -- do not include the &REV_xx section

Save the file and then installer will work as usual.

Just an update to this thread. Microsoft released a windows update that will nag you that your video driver is no longer compatible. Only way around it is to system restore and hide the update or upgrade to Windows 10.
