I can not change the brightness of my screen: the brightness keys do not work and I can not do it through the Control Panel.

I read your post about the screen brightness, and wanted to help!

 

Is this an issue that started to happen recently?  Your display drivers may have been updated.  Try performing a System Restore to put the notebook back to its previous working state.  Also, try reviewing the following document, and let me know how it goes:

HP Notebook PCs - Display Is Dim or Difficult to Read (Windows 8, 7, Vista)

 

If that does not help, then try checking this site for display drivers.  Uninstall your current driver, and instead the previous version: Drivers - HP 14-r005la Notebook PC (ENERGY STAR)

same stuff happened with me try this link it scan your system and you will get compatible graphic driver it usually graphic driver problem  http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html
