HP ENVY Notebook - 17-n065na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello all,

HEELLPP!!

Recently, one of my two HP Envy 17 notebooks has started to grey out on certain websites that have fillable fields on them.  Even logging into this forum is'nt allowed. The other is perfectly fine.  Has anyone either heard of this issue or knows of a suitable fix??

Thank you in advance!

Hello;

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

I use Win10 every day but have not run into any "greying out" issues with websites -- but then, I am careful to avoid using that half-baked, crippled, buggy excuse for a Browser that MS forced on us known as EDGE!!

If you are running into this problem using Edge, then try using a different Browser.

If you must use an MS-supplied Browser, then switch over to using IE.  IF that works, consider following these instructions to make IE the default (if you want it to BE the default):  Solved How to reset IE as default browser instead of Edge - Windows 10 Forums

Good Luck

Good morning WAWood,

Thanks for the information, most helpful.  Like you I have a passionate dislike if edge or, indeed anything that is forced onto us - especially the big brother stuff that Google makes us have!  I did manage to get some help with this issue through HP who helpfully managed to connect me to MS telephone support somewhere.

It did seem like a full solution but, in logging on to reply to you, the issue is still apparant.  Like most people who arn't tecchies, technology and me just have to rub along...
