Hi!

I bought my HP Spectre x360 for 3 months ago, and there is an ongoing issue with the display. Ever so often, it acts as if someone is pressing a specific spot on the touchscreen even though I'm not doing anything. For example if it is unluckily happens to be the chrome icon, it minimizes and brings up the browser repeatedly and I cannot do anything to spot it other than rebooting. Is this problem solvable, or is there serious flaws in the hardware?

Welcome to the HP Forums,
I hope you're well 🙂

I saw your post about the HP Spectre screen issue and I understand that the screen works as though it has a mind of its own,

No worries as I should be able to take the control back and give it back to you:

Just to clarify, did you check if the issue persists in BIOS? if not I recommend checking if the Touch is working on BIOS screen (Accessed by tapping on F10 while restarting the computer).

If it works on bios, it's a software issue: please reinstall the display drivers, install the latest updates for the display adapters and BIOS, if the issue persists,

you could reinstall the windows using the recovery partition or the recovery media to fix the issue.

If it doesn't work on BIOS either, it's a hardware failure and you may need to contact HP to set up a hardware repair service.

Let me know if those steps worked for you.

If they did, that’s awesome!

Give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,

that’ll help us and others see that we’ve got the answers!
Good Luck.
