Can the this model of HP Laptop ENVY dv7-7398ca Notebook PC use the  5GHz bands for wi-fi?

Are the "two" stream things. 

 

When they say on the wi-fi box 300+300 for download speeds, or something along those lines??

Hi,

 

Your machine uses Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230 card (2x2):

 

   http://www.intel.com.au/content/www/au/en/wireless-products/centrino-wireless-n-2230.html

 

It can't detect 5GHz bandwidth but it uses two streams therefore very fast. You may want to bookmark the following link for future referances:
