There is no way to know 100% except by trial and error. Do you have another wireless card you can try and see if the system boots with it in the slot?

I have answered questions about the whitelist for years and humbly would say I know as much about it as anyone except the HP Enginners who wrote the Code (and they are not talking) and I say there is about a 90% chance you do not have a whitelist issue.

HP has never provided a list of whitelisted and non-whitelisted models, you have to go off information we have gathered here by trial and error. It appears HP abandoned the whitelist sometime in Q42013 and it was gone by 2014. Windows 8.1 models do not have it some Windows 8 models do. It is very likely your model does not have it is the best we can really say. It is right on the borderline of where the whitelist stopped.

Yes, I purchased this laptop in August 2013 so I am really really worried now... :Crying:

Is there no way that I can find out if My HP Pavilion 15-e001ax purchased in August 2013 has bios whitelist or not?

It is Purchased in August 2013...

I will put any other wireless card in it to check if the whitelist issue exists or not in my laptop

What are the expected behaviors to know if whitelist exists or does not exists..

Thanks in advance for everything, Appreciate it..

It will be very obvious. You will not get past an error screen that says "Unsupported wireless device". If you can boot to Windows you do not have a whitelist.

Hi, @luvshiv :

Did you see my last reply to your other post?

I do not think you will have a problem as there was another forum member with a 15-e notebook that swapped out the wlan card...

Hello,

I replaced my Ralink RT3290 bgn wifi card on my HP pavilion 15-e001ax with qualcomm atheros ar9485wb-eg wifi card and everything worked like a charm.

So this confirms that my HP Pavilionb 15-e001ax does not have whitelist issue and I can upgarde wifi card on my Laptop, Am I Correct?

Once again, Thanks for all the assistance.
