I have been battling with my internet provider for over a year now, yesterday they tell me my laptop is at fault!
The problem is my internet speed, on wireless I get around 140mbs, but when hardwired to my router I only get 90mbs at best? My provider now tell me it is due to my ethernet adapter, it is only capable of 100mbs.
If this is the case, how do I increase the speed, or replace the adapter?
Regards
M

Hi,
The following link shows specs of your machine:
http://support.hp.com/lt-en/document/c04722760
and Yes, it only has:
Integrated 10/100 BASE-T Ethernet LAN
as mentioned above (integrated means soldered) . Please use my previous reply for option.
Regards.

Hi,
What is your Pavilion 17 ? Please use the following instructions to find out the model/product of your machine:
http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00033108
It may only have 10/100 port and replace it means replace the motherboard - very expensive - Many machines now don't have (wied) NIC port (I've got a least threee machines) and my option is to use USB - 1G adapter which is similar to the following one:
Regards.
