HP 17-y026ng a8
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I got this HP 17-y026ng a8 with OS Dos2.0 and installed Windows 7. Unfortunately I am not even able to connect to the internet because of missing Ethernet driver. The system also miss the drivers for network controller, PCI, SM Bus, USB and and unknown device with the ID "ACPI\SMB0001. I tried to find the drivers (at least for internet to start searching there) but this was wasted time. Hope someone can give me the path. THANKS

Hi, Juergen:

Here are the links to the W7 drivers you need, except for the wireless network adapter (I need more info from you for that).

First install the amd chipset drivers and restart the PC.  You want the first file listed on the page.

Those will install the smbus and usb controllers.

http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/chipset?os=Windows%207%20-%2064

Graphics:  You want the first file on the list.  Install and restart the PC.

http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/apu?os=Windows%207%20-%2064

Audio:  Accept the agreement.  Download and install the 2nd driver on the list.

http://www.realtek.com.tw/Downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=24&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownT... Definition Audio Codecs

Ethernet:  Download, unzip and run the setup application from the 4th file on the webpage.

http://www.realtek.com.tw/Downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=14&PFid=7&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTy...

Card reader (PCI Device):  Download, unzip and run the setup application from the 1st file at the link below.

http://www.realtek.com.tw/Downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=15&PFid=25&Level=4&Conn=3&DownT...

ACPI\SMB0001:

This package provides the driver that enables the Synaptics TouchPad in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system. The driver enables general touchpad functionality (for example double-tap and scroll) and provides a user interface.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp77501-78000/sp77688.exe

Wireless:   There is no information online regarding the model wlan adapter your notebook has, so please post the hardware ID for the device you see listed in the device manager as a Network Controller.

To find the hardware ID, click on the Network Controller device.

Then click on the details tab at the top of the network controller device window.

Now you will see a Property drop down list, and it will be set to Device Description.

Drop down on that list and select the 2nd item (Hardware ID's).

Post the top string of characters that you see in the window and then I will post the links to the wireless and bluetooth drivers you need for that model wlan adapter.

Thanks a lot Paul for your prompt reply.

I am almost finished...

For the network controller I got this information from the system:

PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_B723&SUBSYS_804C103C&REV_00

Thanks, Juergen
