Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello all,

Had to replace a dead hard drive and just installed a new one along with Windows 7 on my niece's Envy Touchsmart M6-k022dx. Can anyone recommend working Windows 7 drivers for this model. I was thinking i only need to get the ethernet/wifi working so that i can update the laptop to Windows 10 and then install the drivers from the drivers page. ANy recommendation is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

If you had already upgraded to W10 and it was succesfully activated, you can clean install W10 without having to install W7 and upgrade it again.

When you get to the W10 installation window, just select the I don't have a product key option and W10 should install and automatically reactivate since microsoft has a record of your PC having been previously upgraded to W10.

Hello Paul,

Thank you for your help. I was able to install everything except the webcam and the wireless. The webcam driver was not able to install correctly. The wireless driver installed fine but it's not giving me a wireless option to connect to my wireless network.

BTW I'm installing Windows 7, haven't jump to 10 yet as I want to get the laptop up and running first then do a backup first before jumping to Windows 10.

You're very welcome.

The parts list for your notebook indicates that it comes with the Ralink RT3290 wireless card.

If the driver installed OK, unfortunately, I wouldn't know what to do about it not connecting.

After running some updates, and finding updates to fix the Windows Update (lol sigh..) it's working for me. The webcam drivers i'm not too worried about right now but I'm unable to find a working driver for the on screen display for when you change volume, etc. Not sure if it's also in the same driver but i'm trying to find a driver for the keyboard as well. Either my Function key is not working or I am unable to use the hot keys to change brightness, etc.

Hi:

You can see if this OSD software works...

This package provides the HP On-Screen Display Utility for the supported notebook models and operating systems. The HP On-Screen Display Utility enables the pop-up graphic displays that are shown on the screen when certain characteristics, such as volume or brightness, are changed.

See if this software works for the Fn keys...

This package contains the HP System Event Utility, which enables special function keys on supported notebook models to be programmed. For example, HP System Event Utility enables users to press the Fn+ESC keys to view system information. This package is provided for supported models running a supported operating system.

You can also try this webcam software and see if this version works instead...

Thank you sir those drivers for the webcam and OSD worked! As for the "fn" key i actually went into the bios and toggled the option off and on and that seemed to give the kick it need to function.

I think the only thing missing now is the beats audio software. I've seen the downloads for Windows 10 version here and Windows 7 version on other sites but I'm a bit leary of those sites. Can you recommend one from here or a reputable source?

You sir is officially "the" man! That driver worked like a freakin' charm. Thank you so much for your help and your time, it is greatly appreciated. I hope HP is paying you because you're awesome.

Is there a way to edit the subject of this thread? I noticed that the model number is wrong, should be k022dx. Also wanted it to just say "HP Envy M6-k022dx Windows 7 Drivers" so that it's easier for others with the same model to search for drivers should they want to install Windows 7.

Again, thank you so much for your help.
