Hi,
my notebook is no longer able to recognize the wi-fi function. Only Ethernet adapter is working now.
It has worked perfectly for more than a year, then switching it on the black screen with HP logo was permanently displayed for several minutes (say ten) with no animation running. I had no chance apart from switching it off and on again. On restarting the wireless function has been lost.
I've checked the BIOS diagnostic at reboot time but the wireless test doesn't start because it can't find any adapter.
Is there anyone who can address me to this fix?
Thank you so much

HI @Alexiei,

What is your specific model of Envy 17 notebook?
HP Notebook PCs - How Do I Find My Model Number, Serial Number or Product Number?
I grasp that your wireless has ceased working and you are unable to run a hardware test on it as the BIOS does not recognize it. If the warranty is not a concern, you could try reseating the wireless module. If after reseating the wireless card, it is still not recognized, I would assume the card has failed. Here is a link to the HP ENVY 17 Maintenance and Service Guide. Please note chapter 4, page 48,WLAN module for removal and replacement procedures and part numbers. Should you need to obtain a replacement here is a link to the: HP Parts Store. You could also try a web search with the part number to locate one.
Please let me know the outcome.
