Hi, I would like to upgrade my wireless card to a dual band wifi card. My roomate just upgraded our router to dual band and the 2.4GHz keeps going down, but the 5GHz is stable. I'd don't want to have to buy a new router since we can't return it now. How can I find a compatible wifi card for my laptop? I have never replaced a component in my laptop before but an comfortable opening it up. I just want to make sure I order the right part and that it is compatiable with my BIOS. I read something about some HP's having whitelists but I don't know exactly how to check that. Any help is appreicated.
After this upgrade, I would like to upgrade my hard drive to SSD as well, but that's another topic I guess.
Thanks

Here is the Service Manual:
See p. 44. Your laptop is new enough that it is beyond the whitelist. You can install any wiress adapter with the right form factor. However, the one I recommend is one of the options for your model in the manual: this one:
Intel Dual Band Wireless 7260 802.11 bgn 2×2 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.0 Combo Adapter (for use on computer models with an Intel processor) 717384-001
Yours is the Intel model, right? This is the right card on amazon.com:
On your model you can replace the hard drive with a 2.5 inch SATA SSD. Your laptop has an mSATA slot but it cannot be used for a boot drive; only for an acceleration cache drive, which you cannot use with a main SATA disk. Since yours is a CTO model I do not know the full specs and whether your laptop even has an mSATA card installed but it is easy to see if it does; right next to the wireless slot.
Post back if you need any more help.
