Hi:

Your notebook is not supported by HP for Windows 8.1.  Only W7 and W10.

If your notebook has the Broadcom wireless network adapter, most likely you have installed an outdated driver for it.

You need this W8.1 driver for the Broadcom wireless card to work properly.

The package contains Broadcom Wireless LAN driver for supported notebook models running a supported operating system. Broadcom Wireless LAN driver is required to enable integrated Broadcom Wireless LAN adapter.

6.223.215.21 Rev.B (21 Oct 2015)

- Provides improved performance when the system is connected to a wireless network.
