Product: HP 15 ac-120tx
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

After a fresh install of Windows 8.1 it does not detect the wifi chipset. The listing under other devices in device manager is network controller. Tried to install this driver : http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp73001-73500/sp73310.exe but to no avail as since it still does not recognise the wifi. Ethernet lan is only showing in network adapters.

 

The PNP device ID of the network controller is:

 

PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_B723&SUBSYS_804C103C&REV_00\4&1E830894&0&00E5

 

Need help please?

Hi:

 

You need a newer version of the driver than the one from 2014 for the hardware revision of the wireless card your notebook has.

 

This package contains the driver installation package for the Realtek RTL8723BE/RTL8188EE wireless LAN Controller in the supported notebook models running a supported operating system.

 

File name: sp72932.exe

 

Your notebook is not supported by HP for W8.1.

 

However, you should also be able to use the W8.1 drivers and software from the 15t-ac000 on your model, except the BIOS and firmware files.

No the driver did not work. Installed it but still not detecting any wifi. Still no wifi adapters showing under network connections. Only connections showing are bluetooth and ethernet.
