using compaq presario cq43 405au with windows7 32 bit currently...was formated before using. Ever since wifi is not turning on, no bluetooth, tried installing all  network drivers from the site but in vain, some of the installation was 'nt even successful. .(ex. softpaq does not apply to the system no Recovery manager installed). I cannot even install hp Wireless Assisstant for some reason, I tried using the Device manager option from where I can install and update drivers...that too didn't work...it's either that the particular driver I am looking for is up to date or working properly(yet giving problems; even after reinstalling or enabling) or the driver I just downloaded wasn't successfully installed and thus never appears in the device manager menu. Right now I am using an external wifi adapter from tp link..Its installed properly and works fine to access the internet...But I need to get the wifi and bluetooth thing working.

Do I need to reinstall the OS??may be because it wasn't installed properly while formating? or what?

Kindly help.

Thankyou.

Hi:

According to the parts list for your notebook, it either has an Atheros wireless card with bluetooth, or a broadcom wireless card with bluetooth, so those are the only two wireless/bluetooth drivers you should try.

It would be better if you knew exactly which wirless adapter you had so there is no worry about the wrong driver causing problems.

The HP wireless assistant software is not compatible with your model.

Your model uses the newer HP Connection Manager software which does the same thing as the HPWA software does on older notebooks.

This package provides the HP Connection Manager for the supported notebook models and operating systems.
