I want to know if my hp pavilion has a wifi card whitelisting and i shearched all on the internet but I did not found any information about this so i would be happy if someone know if my laptop has one or if I could install one?

Hi:

 

There do not appear to be any more BIOS whitelists to prevent installing a different wireless card.

 

But just as bad, you will find on many HP notebooks with single band cards, only one wireless antenna is present.

 

Unless you are willing to take the whole notebook apart including the display panel area to run a 2nd antenna, you will not be able to upgrade the current card as the dual band cards normally require two wireless antennas.

 

So...you will have to physically inspect the current card and see if there is one or 2 antennas present, and decide for yourself what you want to do next.

 

Now, I have heard on some of the newest notebooks, HP has begun to install a second antenna and leaving it disconnected, if there is a single band card installed with only one terminal.

 

Do not rely on pictures in the service manual to determine if your notebook has 2 antennas.
