This is going to sound ridicously simple.  But I just looked at how mine was not aligning and then I went ahead and tore off the top blank section of the avery card sheet.  Waalaa!!  It lined up correct when it printed.

I tried this suggestion completely.  I download all the software for this "genertic printer", added it as another printer and tried to print on my C4280 all-in-one printer.  Doesn't work, the printing job goes into limbo, nothing happens.  Any other suggestions?

I found this discussion because my HP DeskJet 3050 would not feed the Avery business card forms.

I might not post this reply if the heading of this discussion did not deceptively say "Solved".   Yeah,..  Right.

I wasted $20 on the forms themselves, plus 1-1/2 hours attempting to follow the advice listed here...   trying to print on a printer that was incapable of doing so.  I haven't added in the questionable expenditure on the printer itself.

These sorts of experiences leave an indelible impression....    something I expected the printer to do on the Avery business card forms.

But again this is called the "HP Wandering Margin Problem" that occurs with Avery and other sheet business card printing.

See these and other posts by searching for "wandering margin" :

There are no known solutions to trying to print sheet business cards on (newer?) HPprinter products that flip the page around other than to purchase a pull through printer product.

I saw your post and forwarded it to the right people for their review. You should hear back from someone shortly via private message on this Forum.

I'm looking forward to a response, too - this is really perplexing.

I am printing Avery labels - plain paper test is perfect, print run with labels appears to ignore the top margin.

Even more strange is that so far laser print labels print OK, but inkjet labels don't - the sheets feed off the backing paper, so is the printer having a problem with with the texture of the backing???

Here is a good video of the typical problem:

Thank you for the belated response. Sadly this problem has existed for years.

See some other links about the issue:

Here is one question posted via avery about the issue (second question down along with third question about paper weight):

Excellent video showing the typical problem:

I have been contacted and communicated with that person. As I posted in some of my other replies to the multiple questions about this same problem,  I solved it by purchasing one of your competitor's products which pulls the paper straight through  and recommend that as the only possible solution for others encountering the sheet fed perforated business card "wandering margin" problem.

I used these instructions, they worked perfectly!!  I had no problems with the instructions, they were clear and easily to follow.

I have been trying to print photos on my HP Officejet 4500 using Costco photo paper, which is much less expensive then the HP equilalent, without success.  When they did print the photos didn't line up with the borders made by my photoshop elements program.  After only a few print tries the paper wouldn't load well, half the page would print then I would get an error message saying "paper jam".

Thank you so much for sharing this fix.  You made my day!!!
