I have HP Pavilion g series W7 home prem, and c6380 printer/scanner.  Its been running fine for a year and just quit - same thing that happens to many others....when I try to download the SW it downloads the 250+mb file, and then says 'download cancelled - see support'.  Can print but no scan/Solution Center.

Can anyone from HP (or anyone at all) suggest a solution?  Thanks

Good luck getting any help...I have been waiting for 14 days for someone from HP to assist...no luck. I think I'll consider using my HP printer as an anchor and buy a Win 7 compatible Canon All in One.

I agree. I've been waiting months, keep getting emails telling me theres a reply but it's only someone else's problem. HP and the forum are useless. I'm ditching my HP and getting a Canon.

Is there an echo in here???....how about deleting a couple of your identical posts for the sake of saving broadband :generic:

If you took the time to read all the posts above you would see that there are an awful lot of frustrated people who have the same problem as you but have not had any response from any of the HP experts.

You said.....

2002,

Uh, no, I didn't post repetetive responses., as you presented in your messae.

Further, click on the page 1 link of tis message thread, and carefully read the second message

of this message thread, which presents the solution which resolved my original issue.  Further,

if you have carefully done so, you would have read my response (prsented in the 4th message

of this message thread) thanking that responder for presenting a procedure which resolved my problem!

Best Regards,

Perhaps you have the beginnings of a fan club...:smileyvery-happy:

Be that as it may......there are still a lot of us that have had no solutions posted to our problems...thus the frustration of dealing with HP...gonna go Canon 3 in 1 printer........less stress.

Hi Everyone,

Follow the steps below, and let me know what happens?

Step one: Clear temp directory

 1. Type %temp% in the run or search for programs and files field
 2. Highlight all the files in this folder, and then press the delete key to delete. If you get a message that the file is in use you will need to skip this file(s).
 3. Continue with Step 2 below

Step two: Downloaded and extracted to your system:

1. Download the full feature software and drivers

Note: Go to HP Customer Care, and then enter your printer model. Download the full feature software and driver, and then follow the remaining steps below. If your product doesn’t have the uninstall_l4 then please let me know what printer you have and the operating system you are running.

2. Once the download is finished double click on the file to extract the software.

3. When the installation window opens press the cancel button to stop the installation

4. Type %temp% in the run or search for programs and files field

5. Look for, and open the folder starting with 7z (Example: 7zS2356)

6. Right click on the folder, and select Copy

7. Close that window, and all your open windows, and then in the middle of the desktop right click your mouse, and select Paste. This will move the 7z folder to your desktop.

8. Open the 7z folder you just copied to your desktop

9. Open folder Util

10. Open folder CCC

11. Run the uninstall_L4 (.bat or .exe)

12. When the uninstall has completed restart the computer

13. Run Disk cleanup from Accessories\ System Tools folder under all programs

14. Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player

http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html

 15. Open the 7z folder, and then double click on the Setup.exe file which will be toward the bottom of the open window. Follow the on screen instructions to reinstall your printer.

Let me know if you are able to successfully install the software and driver, and are able to print & scan?
