Will do - but cannot sign off during biz hours...don't mind a litle work once in awhile, but having trouble understanding why, as a loyal HP laptop + printer user, I should have to go thru these steps and hoping my scanner will work. Worked fine for over a year, then *poof*. People pay good money for a product and it sucks when a company does nothing to correct a problem that is so widespread - you guys are acting like RIMM.

Hi starvinmarvinpb,
There are a lot of reasons possible why the scan stopped working. It possible something in the operating system contributed to the issue. Let me know what you find out?

I knew that you sent inst - just read them: In my original post, I said that I have tried several times to download the full SW, and each time it got to the end of the ~250mb file, the download was canceled...so I cannot try your workaround until I figure that out...

If the download is getting cancelled it sounds like you are having internet connection issues.
Have you tried downloading the file using a different computer, and then transfer the file to your computer using a thumb drive?

I refer you to my previous posts regarding my C6380. I can scan and print without problems but Solution centre will not give me output from tools including ink levels, head cleaning etc. Before trying your fix, which may upset what I have, do you expect that it will cure my issues?

Glad to hear the issue has been resolved. Have a wonderful day.

It sounds like your installation of the C6380 was not successful. The steps I have provided help you completely clean up the previous installations, and then you can install the printer again using the most recent driver from http://goo.gl/Pru5A. These steps have helps a lot of customers resolve issues with Solution Center, but I can't guarantee this is going to do the trick for you until you try it, but that is up to you if you want to run the steps. If you are happy with the way the printer software is working now then you may just want to leave it as is.

I realize that there are plenty of technology-challenged people out there, but not me. I would know if connection probs were the issue. They are not. It goes thru the entire download, then right at the end it says 'download cancelled'. That is a SW issue of some kind.

I have downloaded and extracted the full feature software and drivers for both 32 & 64-Bit Win 7 for the C6380 without a problem. I would recommend you try downloading this file again from a different computer. Let me know what you find out?
