I have multiple, all the same. I actually would like to add at least two if not three more. I need to know is HP going to do some thing about the inability to change the name of the printer on The HP Smart app or is that too much to ask? It seems that should not be a difficult Software fix in the app. I just need to know if I am going to stick with HP or move on.

Hi @woodiebos,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Changing the printer name in HP Smart typically involves a few steps.

  • Open HP Smart: Launch the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
  • Select your printer: If you have multiple printers connected, select the printer for which you want to change the name.
  • Access printer settings: Look for an option like "Printer Settings" or "Settings" within the app. This may be represented by a gear icon or something similar.
  • Change printer name: Within the printer settings, you should find an option to edit the printer name. Click or tap on it, and then enter the new name you want to assign to your printer.
  • Save changes: After entering the new name, make sure to save your changes. This might involve tapping a "Save" button or a similar action depending on the interface.
  • Verify changes: Once saved, double-check to ensure that the printer name has been updated as intended.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
