Hi @bunkyb43,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When your printer is showing as "offline" even though it's connected to the network, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can take to resolve this issue.

  • Check Connection: Ensure that the network cables (Ethernet or USB) are securely connected to both the printer and the modem/router.
  • Restart Devices: Power cycle your printer, modem, and computer. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues.
  • Printer Software: Make sure that the printer software/drivers on your computer are up-to-date. You can usually download the latest drivers from the HP website.
  • Printer Status: Check the printer's display panel or interface to see if there are any error messages or if it indicates any connectivity issues. You may need to reconnect it to your Wi-Fi network if there are any problems.
  • Network Settings: Access the printer's network settings menu to verify that it is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network. If not, reconnect it to the correct network.
  • Firewall/Antivirus: Sometimes, firewall or antivirus software can block the connection to the printer. Temporarily disable these programs to see if they are causing the issue.
  • Printer Queue: Check the printer queue on your computer to ensure that there are no pending print jobs that might be causing the printer to go offline.
  • Reset Printer: As a last resort, you can try resetting the printer to its factory settings. However, be aware that this will erase any custom settings you've configured on the printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
