Simply put HP Printer Install Software does not see newer ethernet cards (10G networks etc)

you need to downgrade the network card in order to install the software.

Basically ip IS detected on the printer

IP Is pingable on the printer from the workstation over the wired network

Software will not auto detect the printer on the network

Software WILL NOT install with the pingable ip address

Software is using some outdated way of detecting arp / ip addresses over the network and will simply refuse to go any further

When will hp actually test software or use standard programming libraries before releasing software that does not work

When will hp allow installation of drivers without detecting the printer????
