I was able to print a test page but the display is frozen with the HP Logo and the message "Permanent Storage Init." displayed.

Hi @Speedwagon01,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw might be stuck in a permanent storage initialization loop. This could be due to a variety of reasons such as corrupted firmware or a hardware issue. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue.

  • Power Cycle: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a couple of minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on again. This might reset the printer and resolve the issue.
  • Factory Reset: If power cycling doesn't work, you might need to perform a factory reset. Be aware that this will erase all settings and data on the printer. To perform a factory reset, consult the user manual of your printer for specific instructions.
  • Firmware Update: If the printer allows it, try updating the firmware. Sometimes, outdated firmware can cause issues like this. You can usually find firmware updates on the HP website.
  • Check Hardware Connections: Ensure that all cables and connections are secure and properly connected. Loose connections can sometimes cause issues like this.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
