I have rexcently replaced my computer and upgraded to Windows 10. I have been using remanufactured printer cartridges and now have a message "remove and check right cartridge". I have replaced the cartridge with 2 new cartrdiges (remanufactured) but the error persists.

Is this because the cartridges are not original HP?  Is there any way I can overcome the problem? I have tried cleaning etc. I can print a test page and it is fine but the priter will not iitialise.

Thank you

Hello @Keith20,

welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!

I see you are using non HP cartridge.

HP always recommend only to use genuine HP cartridges.

Step 1: Use genuine HP ink cartridges

Step 2: Reset the printer

  1. Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.

  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.

  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

  4. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

  5. Wait at least 60 seconds.

  6. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

  7. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

  8. Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.

  9. Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

  10. Try to print.
