If printer is unused for a short time, it will not start without unplugging

I understand your HP DeskJet 4155e All-In-One Printer is experiencing issues restarting after being unused for a short period, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

 

  • Check Power Connection: Ensure that the power cord is securely plugged into both the printer and a working power outlet. Sometimes loose connections can cause power issues.
  • Power Cycle: If the printer is unresponsive, try performing a power cycle. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 30 seconds, and then plug it back in. Turn on the printer and see if it starts up properly.
  • Firmware Update: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Sometimes, updating the firmware can resolve compatibility issues and improve performance.  Update the firmware on an HP printer
  • Printer Settings: Review the printer settings, particularly any power-saving or sleep settings. Adjust these settings if necessary to prevent the printer from going into deep sleep mode too quickly.
