Using Web Jetadmin &/or Excel VBA, &/or Powershell,
extract data from networked printers,
HP, Canon, Zebra, Toshiba,
produce report :
IP, Hostname, Paper Tray Sizes & Paper Type, both DNS Servers, last time restarted, and if a new Canon Model, if DDNS is ticked
Have written Excel VBA using Win32 to extract data from networked PC's, back into spreadsheet
( RAM, OS, days since restarted, Monitors, etc. ) .
Am trying to do same for printers,
Is there an equivalent Win32 for accessing printer specifications/data ?
Does Web JetaAdmin have any functionality like that ?
Apologies in advance. Am 55, and this is 1st web post ever.
thanks muchly
cheers

Unlike the computer world where everything is pretty standardized in terms of OS, printers are the wild west and most of the data is stored in a MIB and access to that data is restricted to protect IP and every vendor stores things a little differently. There are a lot of reports you can generate with Web JetAdmin and likely worth looking into whether you can get what you want. Reports are typically PDF or CSV formats.
