Hi @Johnig,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP ENVY Photo 7855 printer keeps losing the duplex setting every time your computer is reset or rebooted, there are a few steps you can take to try and fix this issue.

  • Update Printer Drivers: Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. Sometimes, outdated drivers can cause compatibility issues with certain settings.
  • Check Printer Settings: Verify that the duplex setting is properly configured on the printer itself. This ensures that the printer is capable of duplex printing and that the setting isn't being overridden by default settings.
  • Set Default Printing Preferences: Go to your computer's printer settings and set the duplex printing option as the default preference. This way, the setting should remain unchanged even after a reboot.
  • Reinstall Printer Drivers: Uninstall the printer drivers from your computer and then reinstall them. This can sometimes resolve any software-related issues causing the setting to revert.

By following these steps, you should hopefully be able to resolve the issue of the printer driver losing the duplex setting after a computer reboot.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
