Deskjet 2450
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I installed this software to understand how to configure the printer for wireless operation to be used on a friends PC.  The default address is 192.168.223.1.  This is out of the normal address range of most networks.  To configure the printer I had to first use the USB connection and then reconfigure the wireless connection.

After it was operational I wanted to remove the 2450 software.  Doing the normal things, I used the uninstall process from the Win 10 Settings, Apps.  I thought it was all gone.  When I rebooted, an error message popped up missing a file in the Hp directory.  Most of the files were in the HP directory.

I tried using CCleaner, it removed the remains in the registry.  Still had the boot error message.

Tried DOS with admi priviages.  Tried to rd (remove directory) of listings in the Hp directory.  DOS displayed, Files not found.  Since most of the files have been removed I can no longer use the uninstall 'feature' that is part of the install disk.

Any clues as to removing the latent files?

Hi,
From File Exploer type %appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup into the address bar and press Enter.
Delete the Monitor Ink Alerts shortcut of the Non-Existing printer and the error should no longer appear.

Thank you very much, your suggestion worked to remove the pop up DLL request.

Trying to find this elusive path was quite a challenge.

Thanks again,
