Officejet Pro 8600
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The toolbox feature is missing in the HP Support Assistant but I do see the toolbox.exe file in the Program Files Bin folder, but can't start the feature by clicking on it.  I reinstalled the latest full feature software (again) for the printer and did get a toolbox window showing the features, when I closed the window and then went to HP Support Assistant the toolbox option  was still missing.  I think it hates me.  Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

I found the answer to my problem and will include two more images.  When I click on the HP Officejet 8600 icon on my desktop (scan 6) it brings up another small window (scan 7) that then brings up the toolbox window (previous scan 4) that I thought was missing when I clicked on the HP Support Assistant icon (the one with the question mark).  I don't remember if i t was there before when I was using Win 8.1 or not, but at least all is well and many thanks for the suggestions.

Hi,

Within HP Printer Assistant, can you see an item called "Maintain Your Printer" (second item on the left hand side) ? This is the tool box. Or look at the top row with many icons.

Regards.

No maintenance tab or info, this is the first image I get when I open HPSA; I'll post again with the other two scans I get when I click on the My Printer box.

This is the window I get when I click on My Printer.

It looks like I can't insert the .jpg images of the screen shots I took upon opening HPSA.  When I did get the window that said "Diagnostics and tools," the only options that were available were "Print Job Stuck Troubleshooting" and "HP Print and  Scand Doctor," no option for ink levels and other options.

Here's the last .jpg image, I guess it takes awhile to load.

When I install full featured software over my existing software (both the same version) I get this window for the toolbox feature.  I wonder if this toolbox window has been left out of the latest software as when I close the windwo it doesn't appear again in HP Support Assistant.

This is the toolbox.exe file located towards the bottom  in the program folder.

Hi,

I can see Utilities, Estimated Ink Levels, Maintain Your Printer and many options on the above image. What more do you need ?

Regards.

That image is only available when I reinstall (install over) the software, I only get that window when I do this process.  Once I close the window it never comes up again.  What I get are the first three images that I posted.
