HP Deskjet 2540
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a new Dell computer.  I was a Windows 7 with a free upgrade to a Windows 10.  While in Windows 7 I intalled a HP Deskjet 2540 printer then upgraded computer to Windows 10.  Now Running Windows 10.  I uninstalled HP Deskjet 2540 printer and now get the HP StatusBL.dll error every time when I start up computer.  I have the disk and looked at disk to find L4uninstall.exe and cannot find it.  The disk has a Util directory but no CCC directory inside the Util directory.  How do I get rid of this error at start-up of the computer.  I love HP products!

Hi,

The error returns as a result of a remaining shortcut once the software was uninstalled.

From File Exploer type %appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup into the address bar and press Enter.
Delete the Monitor Ink Alerts shortcut of the 2540 printer and the error should no longer appear.

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

Please Uninstall and Reinstall the FULL feature software following these steps:

1. Uninstall the software in your computer

Can you try this Uninstaller from Microsoft  :

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17588/fix-problems-that-block-programs-from-being-installed...

2. Download and save the FULL feature software (do not install it online)

The following resource will help you :

http://123.hp.com/us/en/

Key in your printer model, Operating System and download the FULL feature software to your hard disk.

3. Install the FULL feature “Saved” software

Once you have downloaded and installed the FULL feature software, you should be able to print and scan with no issues.

Hope that helps!

Sorry, Greenturtle, you didn't read my question.  I Uninstalled the printer because I wanted it uninstalled.  I didn't say anything about reinstalling it again.
