My printer has been working fine until a few days ago. Now when I try to print something it takes forever to start to print the page(s). Even after it prints the first page it will be another long delay, a min or two, before it prints the next page. The printer is connected to my router wirelessly. It is fast printing the page when it starts. It does this when sending a print job from my wirelessly connected laptop as well as my desktop hard wired to my router. I checked the HP site and it says all is up to date and no action required. Anyone have any suggestions on what may be causing this slow printing?

Hi @Rick24 , and welcome to the HP Forums!

I see you are experiencing print issues.  I 'd like to help!

Before we get started, I have a few questions:

Does this occur when making a copy?

Does this occur from multiple programs?

Are both computers running Windows 7?

In the meantime, I'd recommend performing a power reset on the printer.  Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.

Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

Thank you for your reply. However after further troubleshooting by HP techs they decided my printer needed to be replace. I have received my new 8610 and it is working great.

I didn't post the question but it solved my printer problem with it taking too long to start printing.  I have a hp officejet pro6830e all in one series.
