HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 5275
macOS 10.15 Catalina

Product no.: M2U76B

Model no.: 5275

There is a white line in the middle of scanned and copied images whether flatbed or automatic feeder. Always in the same area.

No problem with printing straight from the computer.

I already tried the following:

Cleaning the flatbed and the small glass strip. No obvious speck or lint. Followed the YouTube video on how to clean.

Reset the printer

Reset the connections

Called support and tried troubleshooting. Problem has not been solved.

Problem was noticed latter part of 2019. Warranty expired March 2019.

Attached samples of scanned images.

Hi @MafiPoofy

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Let's try these steps -

1) Take out the cartridges.

2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.

3) Wait for 30 seconds.

4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not to a surge protector.

5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

If the issue still persists, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

Have a great day!

Thanks for replying Asmita6658.

I followed your instructions. My printer's firmware is updated.

Removed the cartridges, unplugged, waited for more than 30 seconds, plugged directly to wall, inserted the cartridges.

Scanned image is still bisected by a white line, directly in the middle of the scanning area. Same with previous scans.

Please see refer to image below. It is difficult for me to bring the printer to a service center. =(
