I have tried everything I can find on these forums to enable my scanner to be used in third party software (Sillhouette software).

I can scan fine using HP software for the printer but it is not seen as a scanner when sing third party apps.

I cannot even see the scanner if I use the "add device" on printers and scanners in windows, it finds the scanner but when i click add it says "that failed".

I have tried the following suggestions: HP Scan Extended, HP Scan Doctor and HP Smart but none of these will allow my scanner to be found by 3rd party software.
