When trying to scan error message always pops up, paper jam, but no paper

It sounds like your HP Deskjet 3772 might be experiencing a sensor issue or a mechanical problem. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue.

 

  • Power Cycle: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for about a minute. Then plug it back in and turn it on again. Sometimes, this simple step can reset the printer and clear any error messages.
  • Check for Obstructions: Even if you don't see any paper, there could be tiny shreds or other debris blocking the sensors or rollers. Open up the printer carefully and inspect the paper path, including the input and output trays, as well as the area around the scanner bed.
  • Reset the Printer: Many printers have a reset option in the settings menu. Look for a reset or factory reset option in the printer's menu and try resetting it to its default settings.
  • Update Printer Firmware: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. Sometimes, firmware updates can fix bugs and improve performance.

 

By following these steps, you should hopefully be able to resolve the "paper jam" error message on your HP Deskjet 3772.
