Microsoft Windows 11

I just switched from an older HP Officejet Pro 8600 to an HP Smart Tank 7000 Series. I'm used to enlarging and reducing photos and document for my scrapbook projects by lying them on the 8600 printer glass and designating my enlarge and reduce size right on the printer display. Does the Smart Tank printer offer the same option? I cannot find it.

Hi @SusieSchram,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The HP Smart Tank 7000 Series does indeed offer the option to enlarge and reduce the size of photos and documents, similar to what you're used to with your older HP Officejet Pro 8600. Specifically, the Smart Tank 7000 Series allows for copy reduce/enlarge settings ranging from 25% to 400%. This means you can continue your scrapbooking projects with varying sizes of your documents and photos just as you did with your previous printer. To utilize these settings, you may need to navigate through the printer's menu or use the HP Smart App to access the full range of copy and printing features.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Thank you, Rachel, for your very KIND Reply. However, I am not 100% happy with your answer since you did not give me the information I was hoping for.

When I wrote in my original query that "I could not find" implied I have already spent hours on the HP Smart app, trying to navigate something that should be simple.

At this time, I have concluded that I CANNOT enlarge or reduce size with this printer "just like" I could with my 8600, as you stated. The Smart Tank does not have this capability by itself like the 8600 did.

It appears I can only change the size by SCANNING the original first. Then go into the HP Smart app on my computer or cell phone and change the size of the original but only by the size of the paper I chose for printing.  This severely limits my size options!

I know it must be there somewhere. I just can't find it! If you or anyone else have any ideas that will help me, please reply!!!

Thank you!
