Hi @828282,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To change the host address in your scan to email function, you'll typically need to access the settings on your scanner or multifunction printer. Here's a general guide on how to do it, although the exact steps can vary depending on the brand and model of your device:

Access the Printer/Scanner Settings:

  • For standalone scanners or multifunction printers, you usually need to use the control panel directly on the device.
  • For network scanners, you might need to access settings through a web interface by typing the device’s IP address into a web browser.

Navigate to Email or Network Settings:

  • Look for sections labeled something like "Email Setup", "Scan to Email", "Network Settings", or similar.

Update the SMTP Server (Host Address):

  • Find the existing SMTP server or host address setting. This is the address you want to replace.
  • Enter the new host address that corresponds to the email service you want to use (e.g., smtp.gmail.com for Gmail).

Authentication and Port Settings:

  • Along with the host address, ensure the port settings and authentication methods are correct according to your email provider’s requirements.
  • Typically, this will be port 587 for TLS or 465 for SSL.

Enter User Credentials:

  • If your scan to email function requires authentication, input the email address and password that will be used to send emails.

Save Changes and Test:

  • Save your new settings. It’s usually a good idea to test the setup by scanning a document to an email address to ensure everything is working correctly.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
