hp 227

hp 227 fdn equiped with extension line, supports answet types:

automatic

manual

having just one telephone line, voice/fax, there a two best configurations:

>> when you are at office, preferred is a manual answer, so it always ring to phone

you dont need to hurry, to prevent fax to pick up line after few rings

>> when you are out of office, the prefered is obviousla automatic answer,

fax answers when ring-in comes, because there is nobody else to answer

===== problem!

it is possible to switch auto/manual, but it is DEEP in the menu structure

settings

-- fax settings

-- -- simple settings

-- -- -- answer type

-- -- -- -- chose auto/manual

it is too complicated!

is there a way to switch auto/manual on some simplier way?

otherwise hp227 is completely ok!

in my oppinion, the best solution would be to OVERLOAD fax hang-up button, when fax is iddle, on press to invoke answer type menu directls

is tehere some other way to help me?

i have read the manual, but nothing found

@gsal1,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.

I reviewed your post and I understand that you want to know whether there is any simpler way to switch between manual and automatic fax answer.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I checked the specifications of your printer I see that there is no other option to change the fax answer settings.

Please refer to the below user guide for your printer for more information.
