HP Pavilion p7-1147c Desktop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Am I able to use the AMD a8 3870k processer on my HP Pavilion p7-1147c Desktop because I'm too broke to afford parts for a new pc for gaming and just wanted to upgrade this desktop instead.

@Abl3Book1 , welcome to the forum.

Here is the Product Specifications page for your computer:  https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-pavilion-p7-1100-desktop-pc-series/5146449/model/5157019/doc...

Look at the section titled "Processor/Processor upgrade information" for a list of compatible processors.  If a processor is not on the list it will most likely not work in the motherboard.  All of the processors have been fully tested to assure they are compatible.  HP has their motherboards made to their specifications.  So, they are not necessarily the same as a retail board.
