Hi everyone,
I have an HP Pavillion X360 14-dy for which i had a CMOS chekcsum error problem, which i resolved by recovering the bios.
But now, as i installed Windows, i realized that the touchpad was not working. Either on the bios nor on Windows.
I don't know whether that's related with the replacement of the (touch) LCD, as it's an input device as well. It is not an HP original part, which might have a different controller.
All windows drivers were properly installed. No "!" in device manager. Looking further, I tried to manually install the HP driver, but i got following error message: "Windows has found the driver for the device, but the was an error during the installation. ELAN PrecisionTouchpad filter driver: The device cannot be started (code 10)". When i go to "Devices" I have no "Touchpad",menu after "Mouse".
Do you guys think the touchpad board is faulty or it's a software issue ?
Thanks in advance for your precious help.

Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand that you have touchpad issues, I am glad to assist you.
Update the Bios, chipset, and drivers using HP Support Assistant.
Download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: Click here
- HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook
- Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

- Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

- Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
- Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
- Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.
Also, ensure Windows is up to date.
- Select the Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

Hi Sandy,
Thanks for taking the time.
HPSA found a couple Wifi drivers to be updated, but nothing more.
I opened a new updated thread : https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/Keyboard-amp-Touchpad-not-working-HP-...

Thank you Sandy,
It paid this computer 130 bucks plus 100 for the lcd and another 30 for the back cover. So as you can notice i am a diy guy. The last move i'm gonna make with this computer before is give up is replacing the touchpad board and cable if i can find one.
Would you know where i could buy those parts ? I looked everywhere but couldn't find it.
Thanks
