Hi, lilcastro:

Below is the link to the Realtek wireless driver you need:

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=32...

Please post the full model number of your notebook, and hardware ID for the PCI device and I will try and find the driver.

How to find a hardware ID:

http://www.devicedriverfinder.com/blog/device-drivers/how-to-check-the-hardware-id-for-a-windows-dev...

Also, what operating system?

I downloaded the link you sent and for some reason it still shows a yellow caution sign on the ethernet controller...idk what's wrong....

I have a HP 2000-299WM Notebook PC

Hardware Ids for the PCI device is - PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5209&SUBSYS_3676103C&REV_01

                                                          PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5209&SUBSYS_3676103C

                                                          PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5209&CC_FF0000

                                                          PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5209&CC_FF00

Thank you for your fast reply!

Hi:

Below is the link to the Realtek card reader driver for PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5209.

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-93202-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&...=

Now, we need to get our terms straight...

When you see an Ethernet controller listed in Windows 7 or Vista, that is your wired network controller.

So, if you see the ! on a device named ethernet controller then this is the driver you need for that.

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-93650-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&...=

If you still see a ! mark on the Network Controller (your wireless network adapter), please post the hardware ID's for that as it cannot be the Realtek 8188 you listed before.

Hi,

I'm also looking for Ethernet Controller Drivers for Windows XP Professional. I don't understand why HP doesn't provide a proper service to find drivers (or do I don't know of it?).

Hardware ID:

PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_1677&SUBSYS_3005103C&REV_01

PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_1677&SUBSYS_3005103C

PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_1677&CC_020000

PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_1677&CC_0200

I have already tried to look up vendor and device in the pci-database you posted before and it says "Broadcom NetExtreme Gigabit Ethernet" and "NetXtreme Desktop/Mobile". The first result seems more precise to me and so I looked it up on Google. On the HP-sites I found the following drivers: sp23043.exe, sp24716.exe and sp30319.exe, but none of them works. Broadcom also offers drivers for this device, but not for Windows XP Professional.

Paul could you please help me?

Thank you in anticipation!

Kind regards,

Purlaba

Hi, Purlaba:

Try the XP drivers directly from Broadcom.

http://www.broadcom.com/support/ethernet_nic/netxtreme_desktop.php?legacy=1

Now you have to unzip these drivers to a folder, and manually install them by going to the device manager, click on the ethernet controller with the little yellow ? mark.

Then click on the driver tab. Click on update driver. Select the manual search method and browse to the folder you extracted the drivers to and they should install.

Thank you for your answer, but when I was at the Broadcom page, I didn't find any XP drivers. When I tried to use the Vista32 drivers, it did not work. But the XP drivers would have worked probably.

But in the meantime I found a post on the internet that led me to this page:

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=473291&p...

I downloaded the Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Drivers for Microsoft Windows XP and it worked (the filename is sp42470.exe).

But thank you very much for the support you provide in this forum!

Kind regards,

Purlaba

You're very welcome.

I'm glad you got the driver installed.  I clicked on the link I posted and I see XP drivers there...
