Im running on a bootcamped Imac with win7, downloaded the driver from the hp support site directly, and this is the first problem ive run into in a year and a half. Im setting here looking at my device and driver details, all up to date and enabled, and still the install refuses. I have attempted, in complete futility, to contact any support staff about the issue, and this is my last straw, so to speak. I'm a student and i cannnot go without a functioning printer at home any longer. The error reads as follows:

HP - Photosmart C4700 series

The help button next to "Retry" on the bottom left is greyed out, along with the "Back" & "Continue" options, leaving only "Retry" or "Cancel". There are no error codes, no other signifiers that might lead me in the right direction.
Please, any and all help or speculation is welcome, i'll try salt and sage at this point. And thanks in advance.

Hi,
Click the Start button and type %temp% into the search bar, then open the shown Temp folder.
Open the latest HP installation folder which begins with 7z (e.g. 7zs1234)
Open the Setup folder.
Locate the usbready.exe file and rename it into usbready.old.exe
Browse back to the main extraction folder (the folders who starts with 7z) and launch the Setup.exe file.
Now follow the installation and check for any difference.

Worked beautifully. I initally went back to the original driver set up .exe that i downloaded, and that didnt work. But starting it from the 7z file's setup.exe worked, just as instructed. thank you so much for your help, it has been absolutely invaluable
