Never used a forum in the past, and I'm not sure I'm in the right place now. But I have an HP Envy (don't know off hand the screen size), but I've been reading about all the hinge breakage issues, as my LH hinge pushes the bottom LH plastic cover under the hinge down. I'm concerned that the hinge on this laptop is about to go out.
I bought this laptop December of 2014, warranty ran out December of 2015. I'm just about to get to the two year old mark. I've had two HP desktops, and this is the second HP laptop. I've been glad to stick with HP, but now I need HP's help. as a lot of other folks have mentioned, the laptops are too expensive to have something like this happen, and it's unreasonable to spend half the cost of the laptop for repairs.
I'd like someone from HP to contact me to discuss this.

I experienced the same problem with my HP Envy laptop. I had to have the left hinge replaced while it was under warranty, and now it is showing signs of breaking again. My laptop is no longer under warranty, so I am not pleased. This appears to be a design flaw. I am not looking forward to taking it in for repair, being without my computer for two weeks, and facing a bill for the repair.

Kevin,
I appologize for this taking so long for me to get around to doing, but I wanted to say that HP did an excellent job taking care of this issue for me.
A customer care agent- Renee contacted me, set up the return, kept me updated on the repairs, then let me know it was finished and on it's way back to me. I really want to thank HP (and Renee) for doing this. I really couldn't have invested into a new laptop at this time.
I mentioned to Renee that I've had nothing but HP equipment, printers, desktops, and laptops. HP has earned my loyalty, Thank you.
