Product: HP Stream
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (32-bit)

I just bought an HP Stream for my daughter that is running windows 8.1 I believe but I don't know if its 32 bit or 64 bit.  The trouble I am having is that the stream is surfing the internet way slower on my network than my old beat up Gateway laptop.   I don't know if there is a setting that I am missing to correct this.  Does anyone have a suggestion as to what to do?  I have already taken off a ton of un-necessary apps but it doesn't remedy the problem.  Thanks.

First, please perform a hard reset. Once that is complete, follow these troubleshooting documents:
