Product: HP Pavillion Dv7 Notebook PC
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Okay so recently my computer has been getting slower and I thought a RAM upgrade could not hurt at all. So how much RAM could this laptop take and what type of RAM would be best? My processor is the Intel Core i5-2430 btw.

Also my fingerprint scanner will no longer work once my computer has been running for  awhile but will resume functioning once I restart my computer. Any way to fix this issue or is it just one little thing I'll have to live with?

Thank you. So which ram stick will fit? I'm sorry I'm not good at hardware whatsoever. And also any fixes for the finger scanner?
