I updated the bios and after the pc rebooted none of the usb ports work and the usb serial bus is not listed in the device manager. I received no errors.

Hi Richrob,

 

Usually after BIOS updates I recommend restoring BIOS defaults as some settings may change or the managed power states need to be refreshed. If you boot to the F10 menu there will be a restore BIOS defaults setting on the main page.

 

If the USB bus does not come back up after restoring defaults, try reinstalling the USB driver. You can find the most recent version for Windows 7 here.

I reinstalled drivers and that took care of it.
