See p. 35 for "how to". This is an internal battery as I am sure you know and replacement may jeopardize the warranty.

Thank you very much. Yes, I know it will void the warranty but unfortunately the battery went 1yr1month after I bought the laptop so the warranty had just finished when the battery gave up. I'm not very impressed as I really think a battery should last longer than a year seeing as I have taken very good care of the laptop. But alas, HP won't even accept calls from customers if your laptop is not under warranty.
