Hi @JohnJan1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like there might be an issue with the printer recognizing the cartridges even though they are correctly installed. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try.

  • Restart the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on again. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve minor issues.
  • Check Cartridge Installation: Double-check to ensure that the cartridges are securely installed in their respective slots. Sometimes, a loose connection can cause the printer to not recognize the cartridges.
  • Clean Cartridge Contacts: Remove the cartridges from the printer and gently wipe the electrical contacts on the cartridges with a lint-free cloth or cotton swab lightly moistened with distilled water. Make sure the contacts are clean and dry before reinserting the cartridges into the printer.
  • Update Firmware: Visit the HP website and check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer model. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve compatibility issues with cartridges.
  • Reset the Printer: Try resetting the printer to its factory defaults. Instructions for resetting the printer can usually be found in the printer's user manual or on the HP website.
  • Replace Cartridges: If none of the above steps work, it's possible that one or more of the cartridges may be faulty or incompatible with the printer. Try replacing the cartridges with new ones to see if that resolves the issue.

By following these steps, you should hopefully be able to resolve the error message and get your printer working properly again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
