Spectre x360
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I recently purchased the Spectre x360 (13-4003dx) along with the Bamboo Stylus feel Carbon. Unforunately, the stylus was not compatiable with the Spectre and I had to return it (after reaching out their customer support).

I still want an Active Pen/Stylus for my Spectre to take precise notes with OneNote and I want to know which stylus/pen are compatibile with the Spectre (e.g. if the HP Active Pen J4R51AA#ABL is compatiable).

Thanks!

Either should be compatible!

hi,

1. can the pen also be used for navigation thru win 8.1 , browsers, scrolling, metro panel, etc on the spectre 360 as the ms surface pro 3 and its pen ?

2. does the pen have "hover" capabilities at a few mm from screen for right clicking and mouse-like functions ??

3. does it have sufficiently strong magnetism to securely attach to the spectre 360 chassis somewhere ??

thx,

oops, "...one more thing..."

what are the diff betw the 2 pens linked above ?, both synaptics i'm sure but and spec critical diff other than price ??

I'm told that the difference is mainly "personal preference."

This pen is a bit more precise and a has a slightly lighter feel (http://h30094.www3.hp.com/product/sku/11144407/mfg_partno/K8P73AA)

This pen has a little larger diameter and a slightly heavier feel (http://store.hp.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/us/en/pdp/accessories-88342--1/hp-active-pen)

Both can navigate the OS.  Both have the same hover and button capabilities.

Neither will magnetically attach to the Spectre chassis.

Hope that helps!

great !, that certainly helps and is all good news except the magnetic attachment.

my spectre 360 is coming tomorrow, qhd, i7, 512 gb, so i'll get one of these pens to enhance the experience !, maybe buy the ms surf 3 pen holder to attach ?

funny when i asked the hp store rep about the pens and the leather carrying sleeve he knew nothing about them ?

thx a bunch !

I'm glad that I was able to help!

Maybe wait until you have the pen, then take it with you to the Microsoft store to see if the pen holder will work? I couldn't say, offhand. 🙂

I hope you enjoy your new Spectre x360!

ok, sounds good,

i do have the ms surf pro 3, but cant get used to flimsy kb, thats why i'm switching.(also battery life)..the hp thicker pen may be too thick, i'll buy both poss and keep the better fitting one.
